Product Description

This Chairman Style pen features Figured Ancient Kauri. Ancient Kauri/ Agathis australis. This pen comes with a certificate of authenticity that testifies that the wood has been carbon dated to be 30,000-50,000 years old. So why is it called the 5,000 year old pen? Because depending upon your belief set this pen could be percieved to be 5,000 years old. We want to exceed expectations so we will err on the side of being conservative and so we call it the 5,000 year old pen. The oldest workable wood/lumber on earth is Ancient Kauri. The trees from ancient forests on North Island, New Zealand have been buried under peat moss since the last ice age. They are well preserved and are now being dug up from the tundra.

The rhodium-plated clip on this pen includes a Swarovski ® clear Crystal. All exposed accent rings, bands and caps include elegant 22kt Gold custom hand-carved 3 dimensional designs. This pen is available as a smooth flowing German made Schmidt® rollerball, Iridium tipped medium fountain or both/dual. An upgraded fountain nib in 18kt gold is also available. This one of a kind pen was handcrafted from a block of wood using a proprietary 64 step process by Frederick Fine Handcrafted Writing Instruments a.k.a. frederickpens.com.
